- Abtenauer waterfalls: directly from the house you can start the comfortable hike to the “Trickl- und Dachserfall” in the city district Au. At the end of the circular walk you will find a kneipp treatment with a pick nick area – the ideal place to escape the heat.
- Adventure pool Abtenau excites with a big adventure area (2 slides, flow channel and so forth), sport pool and an extra area for children.
- Lammerklamm: only 5 minutes by car, you can explore the impressive „Lammerklamm“ in Scheffau.
- Rafting-, Cannoning- or Tubing. There are different providers in Abtenau who offer guides tours.
- Various lakes in the surroundings of 45 minutes: Wolfgangsee, Hallstättersee, Fuschlsee,...
- Thermal baths and indoor pools in the area: Aqua Salza in Golling, Therme Amadee in Altenmarkt, Heiltherme Bad Vigaun, Rupertustherme in Bad Reichenhall
